Stupid winter

When the weather was still nice (I miss Summer already!) we were making it a point to get out and about every weekend before it got cold and gross out. It’s not quite cold and gross yet, although it’s getting close, I’m trying to come up with a lot of fun activities that are indoors, like going to Monkey Joe’s play gym or even the Adventure Science museum again.

Lo loved when we went the first time! Her favorite parts were crawling around the model digestive system and playing with the steel drums they had for a while.

What are some of your favorite indoor activities?

Friday 5

Friday 5: Repellent

What’s something you enjoy eating that many others would be grossed-out by?
I used to gross kids at the lunch table out with my sardines, but it’s been so long since I’ve had any I might be grossed out, too! Pickles or sushi, maybe?

Which of your personal traits is most likely to make others want to avoid you?
I can be really shy and sometimes it comes off like I’m just a bitch who doesn’t want to talk to you.

If you could wear a bracelet that had the power to keep certain kinds of people away from you, what kind of people would you repel?

People who are loud and obnoxious.

We are all capable of overcoming our biases, of course, but what’s a physical trait (in others) that pretty much turns you off?

I can’t really think of one other than bad hygiene? I don’t think that counts, though.

When you feel a case of the blues coming on, what do you do to fend off the bad feelings?

Dance and sing at the top of my lungs.

Randomness

Are you wearing purple?!

I sure am! Not many people knew about spirit day today so I was one of the few, but I will wear it proud!!

I just got a huge craving for chips and salsa. I wish store bought chips were half as good as the kind you get in restaurants like Las Palmas or Chuy’s. I’d say Baja Fresh if the one we had downtown hadn’t disappeared. I say Chuy’s because they pretty much stole Baja’s chip recipe, it’s obvious.

I’m ready for this lame day to be over. It’s been dragging for me. I have to make a stop at the store to buy a new xbox headset because I managed to drop and break ours last night. D’oh!

Tired

I’m exhausted today. I don’t know how I’m still awake right now. I’ve been up browsing engagement rings (don’t even ask me why; I’ve already got one that I love!) and trying to decide if I want to attempt staying up to start an account with Verizon so I can pre-order the new iphone tomorrow, or if I should try my luck at an upgrade with at&t.

I’m leaning toward Verizon at this point because it’s faster and I hear you get better coverage, but that means I’ll have to pay $175 to cancel with at&t… but at the same time, do I really want to be stuck with a slower carrier for two more years?

I just can’t decide! I want someone to decide for me, but so far no one has volunteered ;) Oh my first word problems, let me show you them.

Today, we…

Had another lazy day! I am on vacation for the week while Lo’s baby sitter has surgery so we’ve been able to spend time cuddling and goofing around on weekdays! Sadly it rained and was gloomy all day yesterday, and today has been the same. I adore being on staycation, though, and it makes me feel happy to spend all this time with her. Today, we had breakfast and got dressed to go to the store.

I discovered our Kroger now has these awesome car buggies! I didn’t hear a peep out of Lo during our short shopping trip, so I will definitely head to Kroger any time I need to do some shopping with her in tow.

After Kroger we came home and played hide-and-seek outside until lunch time. After we ate, Lo oddly wanted to take a bath (she normally has her bath before bed) but a bath before her nap sounded like a great idea to me!

Then a bunch of boring stuff happened while she was sleeping (cleaning) and Vernon got home just a few minutes before she woke up. Before we ran to the store I got a huge pot of spaghetti sauce cooking in the crock pot. I love love LOVE my crock pot, being off and having dinner cook itself is amazing. I’m taking advantage of my time off to find and try out new work friendly recipes.

Tonight I am looking forward to the Teen Mom finale and cuddling up with my Vernon :)

Gadgets galore!

Ugh! What a stressful evening I’m having already! I had to leave work early to pick up Lo, and in between the sitter’s house and the front door she threw two fits. I was able to talk her out of both of them without her having a huge melt down, but it was frustrating none-the-less.

We finally get settled in at home when my phone goes off with a text from my supervisor to the designers saying it was urgent so of course I hopped online to take care of the news. Many of the folks I work with have pc tablets so it is easy for them to get into work mode in just a few seconds, but I am not going to lie it throws me way off. I’m not used to doing my work from a laptop with a touch pad. In this kind of situation, trying to get set up with an actual mouse will waste too much time. It’s also hard for me to get my browsers organized and can really end up a mess.

My tower is a little (okay, a lot) outdated as I’ve had it since college and it isn’t even a intel mac. That thing is a hot mess. Maybe one day I’ll upgrade it and have a more peaceful experience when I have to jump into work at a moment’s notice!
