T minus 10 days
I just did a bunch of Christmas shopping! Woohoo! I’ve been doing lots of online browsing for Lo but hadn’t actually decided to purchase anything until today, and it’s a big weight lifted! We’ve just been back and forth with what we wanted to get her. She’s been dying for a Buzz Lightyear toy, and I had a hard time deciding if I should get her the big plush or the super cool figure that is a replica of the one from the movies. I went with the replica!
I’m sure you’re thinking wow–what if they don’t ship in time? But one of the reasons I felt alright waiting is because I scored a FREE year long membership for ShopRunner (free two day shipping on participating sites). I ordered some electrical switch plates yesterday using my ShopRunner account and they were waiting on me when I got home!
I also got her some other great gifts. We’re going to pick out a few more smaller items along with some clothes (she is growing like a WEED! 2T tops are pretty much too small for her!) and Santa will be ready to visit Lo! I am so excited!
I want this!!
Janice, Jr.
Meet little baby Janice! Isn’t he just precious? They are both doing well in the hospital and should be able to go home today or tomorrow. What a perfect Christmas present! I can’t wait until Aunt Amanda, Janice, and Janice Jr. come over for Christmas dinner and to exchange presents. I’m really excited to buy gifts for the baby!
I’m not going to mention what I got Aunt Amanda since she reads my blog but I did get Janice, Sr. some dj gear after hearing that Janice was in need of some more equipment. I really hope Janice likes it, and that I got something that will be of good use!
In between work and going back and forth from the hospital, I’m trying to fit in more Christmas shopping. Lo’s baby sitter’s gifts are taken care of, as well as Mimu. Still a lot more to go!
You guys!!
AUNT AMANDA JUST HAD HER BABY!!!
As if all the pregnant ladies and women having babies isn’t enough to get my baby pangs going, Aunt Amanda had to go and have one too.
I just got back from the hospital to visit. I brought her flowers and an adult diaper or two so she doesn’t have to wear those scary hospital pads.
Lulu told me today that she had a dream I was pregnant with a baby boy. I’ve been having lots of dreams like that too, maybe it’s a sign!!
Christmas Shopping!
Although I got a bit of an early start, I lost steam and still have plenty of Christmas shopping to do. I hate that I leave it until the last minute almost every year, and it becomes a source of stress rather than something I enjoy.
I picked up a golf gps finder for my Uncle Bob that I just know he’ll love! Other people I still have to shop for are not as easy to buy gifts for, though.
To top it all off, Vernon just texted me that he’s having issues with his truck again, even though we just got it back from the shop the week of Thanksgiving. I’m really, really tired of these car troubles. If it’s not one thing, it’s another.
Friday 5
Friday 5: BRRRRR!
What’s your favorite thing about cold weather?
Pretty much the only thing I think of that I like about cold weather is the clothes–layering blazers and cardigans, sweaters, boots and scarves!
Soups and hot beverages seem to be everyone’s favorite cold-weather culinary combatant, but what’s another food that seems to take the bite out of the cold?
I like chicken pot pie as well as chicken & dumplings in colder weather.
When the weather is just starting to turn cold but is not yet in full frigidity, what do you add to your bed until it’s time to break out the heavy artillery? (I said what, not whom!)
Nothing, really. We’ll get out our space heater to put wherever Lo is sleeping (either our room or hers) but that’s it.
What household chore seems especially unkind in these colder months?
All of them, all year long. Haahahaha.
Among people you know, who seems most oblivious to cold weather?
Humm, I don’t know if I’d say oblivious but Aunt Amanda loves cold weather, cause she’s insane.
