OMG! I lak lovvve your site, it’s so cute!!@! kekeke!

I just removed my Exentrique and Despair links. I tried to remove my site from both listings, but what do you know Despair is down.

I am no longer participating in these web sites or any other comment exchanges. Not because I don’t think it’s a good concept. I believe it really is, it is just a shame that it is overflowing with crap. I stopped leaving my assigned comments when I realized that all of the comments I was receiving were normally the result of someone coming to my blog, reading a line or two, and making up some bullshit and clicking submit. This was only the case most of the time and isn’t necessarily fair to say for everyone. And I am also willing to admit that every now and then I’d stumble upon a jewel of a site, but lets face it, Internet, that was rare.

Honestly, I left bullshit comments as well. I would pull up some lame-o blog and think, “Do I seriously have to put myself through this?” and the answer is no, no I do not. I don’t need Exentrique or Despair to gain visitors, especially not ones who are forced to participate in my site and pretend they like it. Most of which did a terrible job. I will just go back to getting little to no comments, but at least I know people will leave them because they want to and not because they have to.

Spread the werd!

WordPress 2.1.1 Dangerous. Upgrrrrrrrrrade!

Long story short: If you downloaded WordPress 2.1.1 within the past 3-4 days, your files may include a security exploit that was added by a cracker, and you should upgrade all of your files to 2.1.2 immediately.

I thank, Jordan for this news. Had I not gone to her site I never would have noticed cause I’m dumb like that. I actually managed to upgrade both my site and Les (VISIT HER. New url, new layout. It’s hawt.) ERIC – You have 2.0. Your install is safe.

Tomorrow I’m going to look at more houses. Keep your fingers crossed for better luck and a smoother day, oh god. Please.

EDIT: I dunno if it’s the upgrade or if I did something wrong, but my FAQ and Photos page currently aren’t working. I’ll fix that tomorrow, time for bed.

New haircutI got another one of them botched haircuts. I’m a little unsure about this one though. I also think I broke my digital camera which is a shame, one second it was fine then the next thing I know it’s stuck blurry. I wish I could break a few more things just by looking at them.

broken camera In other news, my car may be fixed tomorrow. Now that we’ve racked up another couple thousand in repairs, I’m sure. Since I last mentioned, the people that are working on it magically keep finding major things wrong. My timing belt, clutch, etc. Yeah, thanks guys. Feel free to fix the other 9,823 things broken while you’re at it.

Dirty ScarfI added a shoutbox to my sidebar tonight. I wanted to point out that both columns of the sidebar are EXACTLY the same length, I so did that on purpose. (edit: It was for a minute, anyway) I can thank my job for that. I can also thank my job for making me feel a little more attached to InDesign. It was the outcast of Creative Suite in my eyes, I did not feel very fondly of it. But the more I use it the more excited I get to layout TEXT!

Q&A

Please visit the recently updated FAQ page. I finally got around to hunting down a script so that the asking and answering of the questions can be easy. Now please, ask until your heart’s content cause I’ll be honest, the page is in need of some real questions.

A Pain in the Ass, Indeed.

Lately I’ve been having a hard time fighting the urge to buy massive amounts of web space, but last night I caved. I was up really late doing the usual, fiddling with things.. bitching with Eric and talking to LesleyEric and I were discussing how shitty of a host Netrillium is. So we started looking into switching hosts and found hostgator, who in only a little over 24 hours kicked netrilium’s ass.

It was a night full of emotion because at first I signed up for a plan that did not come with what I wanted. Note to self: reading helps. Then I nearly collapsed from being a little to excited that we ended up with a reseller account and massive, massive amounts of space. But, it never fails… we totally broke our websites like 800 times in the span of 2 hours while trying to get them transferred. I think we eventually gave up at about 3:30 in the morning. We got it all worked out though, it’s them Keith genes.

I hate to completely steer this blog in a new direction, but it is now 4:06 am and I think I just overheard an all out brawl in my apartment’s parking lot. Sounded like someone got mugged. I know I heard, “let go of me you cock sucker!!!” at least 9 times. I hate living in an apartment. Tomorrow I plan to go visit my grandfather to hear how the house hunt is going. I hope it’s going, at least.

Speaking of going I should probably get going cause going is what I gotta get. Just another day in the life of a Nerd.

Ladies Love A Country Boy

I added some new photos to my flickr account. I guess they’re not technically new, I just got around to chosing a few that were saved on my hard drive. Maybe one day I’ll get really bored and go through the ones I’ve saved on to disc.

I’ve been spending a lot of time on Digg tonight, mainly because someone is always harping on me to participate, but I find that the news only keeps me entertained for so long. After a while I realize I’m not reading the articles because I care about being informed. I just want to be able to enjoy the comments. It seems like nobody ever has anything nice to say and as sad and scary as that is, it’s rather addicting. Sort of like Roseanne. How I can watch a show about a fat woman who does nothing but bitch is beyond me.

On Friday at work I think someone of some sort of importance came into the office to be interviewed. I’m not sure who he was, but you know those country music stars have a look (that I won’t elaborate on… I’m trying to keep things positive) and why else would anyone care to ask him questions? Not only that but actually take note of the answers… ?

Last month a mother and her two daughters came in who had formed a trio, called themselves Lucy Angel. I assume they were stopping by lots of places downtown to promote their new album. When they stopped by my work we all gathered in my boss’ office and by golly, they did us a few diddies! I’m totatlly not into country music so you can imagine it was really hard for me to look like I wasn’t in pain, but I tried. I mean, they weren’t really bad. They could sing… I guess.

I don’t understand country music at all. I’ve been in Nashville all my life so it’s nothing new. I work for a company that deals with nothing but country music. At first I was scared that it would start to grow on me. However, even though I love my job I hate country music a little more with each day that passes. Ears, please don’t fail me now.

Don’t get me wrong though, I’ll be the first to admit that my neighbors called the cops on me for listening to Johnny Cash just a little too loud.

Party on, Wayne!

Last night after I got off work I didn’t really have any plans and I was feeling pretty lazy so I thought I’d try to get this heap rolling. I logged into WordPress to see what damage I could do when I read on the Development Blog that something or other needed to be updated. After attempting to update it (keyword: attempting) I went to check on everything and sure enough, I had dun gone and broke it!

So.. instead of trying to undo what I just did, I thought hell, I’ll just reinstall WordPress. Good thing there were only a few blog entries here that didn’t mean much to me because I didn’t even think about trying to save them before I deleted my old install.

But, it all worked out because after I reinstalled WordPress I could suddenly get everything to work right. I managed to also stumble upon a really nice theme that I altered to my liking. I must say it’s not looking too shabby around here. I managed to rig up something nice for a gallery using my Flickr photos and I also got the About page done. If that’s not progress, then I just don’t know what is.
