Tax returns

I had to get in contact with my real estate agent the other day to see what exactly I need to do to get the interest back on my house. When I was signing papers at closing they told me I would be getting a hefty amount of money back and at this point I’m really really needing it. I am extremely anxious to get all my tax forms back in the mail so that I can get this rolling and it will rain money on me. I’m trying not to get my hopes up too high because the worst always happens but I’m pretty sure I’m already teetering on “worst” at the moment. God, please! Send those tax forms! I neeeeed them.

Celebreality

I was getting my daily dose of celebrity gossip just now when I discovered that dumbass Lindsay Lohan got arrested for yet ANOTHER DUI. She was also driving on a suspended license and had cocaine on her person. It’s one thing if you’re going to do all this silly shit, but don’t get in a car and drive. Even more importantly, when you’re drunk with cocaine in your pocket and your license is suspended, one would think the LAST THING you want to do is get in a high speed car chase with someone at 2am. Yes, Linsday was doing the chasing… She’s run back to rehab, already. Didn’t she just get out or something?

So who’s looking forward to the Friday issue of OK! Magazine? As much as I hate to allow myself to be entertained by the trainwreck that is Britney Spears, you can’t blame me for being interested.

selective hearing

Something I really seemed to have mastered is tuning things out. I think this comes from a few different things:

1. Ignoring my grandmother, she bitched so much it could make your ears bleed.
2. I worked at a daycare for a little over three years. Quite a few people quit in the time that I worked there, yet no matter who the school hired the children were still wild. Maybe it was me?
3. In between working at the day care I worked for a nonprofit organization that gave mentally handicapped adults the chance to live a life “on their own.” On top of that, I worked there with Amanda. I’m not going to point out who was harder to ignore, I’d hate to hurt Amanda’s feelings. :P
4. My boyfriend talks a whole lot.

A lot of the time I can’t even sit through a movie. I accidentally stop paying attention. It’s funny though, Paul can be across the house when his phone rings, and I hear every word. :D

It’s like a creature out of Greek Mythology

I can’t decide what’s worse, seeing the dirty dishes form mountains in the kitchen sink, or actually doing them. I severely hate doing the dishes for the following reasons:

My grandmother was a nazi. My brother and I were responsible for doing the dishes growing up, and it was the worst, most excruciating pain that you can imagine. Nothing was ever, never done right. I considered it to be a good night if by the grace of god, she wasn’t mean enough to make me cry.

I have the worst posture known to man. This scares me, and certainly hurts by the time I’m done.

It’s pretty gross.

And most imporantly: DISH PAN HANDS

Sunshine been keeping me up for days

I have been up all night long. You see, I like to visit woot on days I can remember to. The other day I ordered a Pinnacle PCTV pro usb, not bothering to pay attention to whether or not it would work on my trusty dusty macintosh. Not even five minutes after I had paid for it, I thought to check and realized that no, this damn thing is for Windows only. I was just too excited about it though to try and cancel my order and get my money back. I wanted it anyway because holy crap, that’s just so cool. I want it.

It came in the mail recently and I am bound and determined to get it to work on my computer so that I can watch tv and record things, and oh my goodness. So far, 4:30 am, I’ve managed to get Windows XP Pro installed and running on my mac. I’m pretty impressed with myself, I’ll admit. I’m trying to get service pack 2 installed because the tv hub thing requires it. I’m just very, very worried that at some point in all this I’ll get some wacky error informing me that I have wasted an entire night of sleep to do absolutely nothing. And that no, Kelley, the damn thing WON’T WORK ON A MAC!

I foncess

I’d been meaning to order my dooce shirt for a couple of weeks now. Recently I went to buy it, but because I’ve gone to buy it so many times, I really couldn’t remember if I had or not. Yesterday I noticed that the company they are sold through billed me, which means yay! I actually ordered it like I thought. I didn’t realize it’d show up so fast, though. I guess I ordered it a little on the big side. Oops. I’d return it.. but well, I couldn’t but wear it.

dooce

I stumbled upon dooce.com when she was pregnant and have been reading her website religiously ever since. I am fascinated with her. Not in one of those creepy, scary ways (at least I don’t think so…) but I think she writes beautifully and I admire her accomplishments. I love most though reading about her relationship with her daughter. It comforts me to see that even though their daughter is still so young, they love her deeply.

New haircutI got another one of them botched haircuts. I’m a little unsure about this one though. I also think I broke my digital camera which is a shame, one second it was fine then the next thing I know it’s stuck blurry. I wish I could break a few more things just by looking at them.

broken camera In other news, my car may be fixed tomorrow. Now that we’ve racked up another couple thousand in repairs, I’m sure. Since I last mentioned, the people that are working on it magically keep finding major things wrong. My timing belt, clutch, etc. Yeah, thanks guys. Feel free to fix the other 9,823 things broken while you’re at it.

Dirty ScarfI added a shoutbox to my sidebar tonight. I wanted to point out that both columns of the sidebar are EXACTLY the same length, I so did that on purpose. (edit: It was for a minute, anyway) I can thank my job for that. I can also thank my job for making me feel a little more attached to InDesign. It was the outcast of Creative Suite in my eyes, I did not feel very fondly of it. But the more I use it the more excited I get to layout TEXT!
