Today, we…

Had another lazy day! I am on vacation for the week while Lo’s baby sitter has surgery so we’ve been able to spend time cuddling and goofing around on weekdays! Sadly it rained and was gloomy all day yesterday, and today has been the same. I adore being on staycation, though, and it makes me feel happy to spend all this time with her. Today, we had breakfast and got dressed to go to the store.

I discovered our Kroger now has these awesome car buggies! I didn’t hear a peep out of Lo during our short shopping trip, so I will definitely head to Kroger any time I need to do some shopping with her in tow.

After Kroger we came home and played hide-and-seek outside until lunch time. After we ate, Lo oddly wanted to take a bath (she normally has her bath before bed) but a bath before her nap sounded like a great idea to me!

Then a bunch of boring stuff happened while she was sleeping (cleaning) and Vernon got home just a few minutes before she woke up. Before we ran to the store I got a huge pot of spaghetti sauce cooking in the crock pot. I love love LOVE my crock pot, being off and having dinner cook itself is amazing. I’m taking advantage of my time off to find and try out new work friendly recipes.

Tonight I am looking forward to the Teen Mom finale and cuddling up with my Vernon :)

Flower Friday

Today has been a great day! This year at work, we started doing Summer hours which means I get to leave at 1:30 every other Friday! I’ll be so sad to go back to our normal hours because it is so nice to come home for a few hours and have the whole house to myself. This is extremely rare, so I love every minute of it!

After I left the office today, I stopped by the eye doctor to pick up my new reading glasses. Years and years of staring at a computer screen for such long periods at a time is starting to take a toll on my vision. :(

When I got home I decided to bust out my camera and take some pictures. I’m sure I’ve said it before, but I go through spurts where I don’t pick up my camera much at all. I noticed our Zinnias are blooming so I headed to the backyard to get pictures. I also discovered some of our other flowers have bloomed, but I’m not sure what this one is:

It made me so happy today to have time to myself and get behind my camera! I definitely need to make more time for myself and doing what brings me joy.

We made it!

Православни икониWe made it to the fair! It was so much fun. My favorite parts were seeing the different animals, there was both a petting zoo and a poultry and rabbits display where they had rabbits and chickens for sale as well as the prize winners. It was really hard not to come home with a bunny!

Lo adored seeing all the animals and gave the pigs hugs and kisses. It was really sweet, I’m thinking some day when she is a little older, we can get her some chicks and/or a rabbit as gifts for Easter. If we got them for her now she might squeeze them to death!

Riding rides and playing games wasn’t as much fun as the free stuff. By that time Lo was getting sleepy and cranky, and didn’t like waiting in line at all. When it was time to go she threw a huge embarrassing fit, but who cares. I’m sure it happens to all parents at some point.

Reaching the top

Last Monday I ordered a Canon Digital Rebel XT as well as a 2 gig SD card, I was really happy when they arrived on Wednesday. I’ve b een trying to take as many photos as I can and right now I have about 338 images until my SD card is full. The card came with a cute little keychain that can hold two memory cards.

I’m really really happy to have been able to replace my slr. I hated not having it once it was gone, and even though I’m no expert photographer I still really enjoy taking photos. It doesn’t mean I can’t get better either, give it time and you’ll see my photos in magazines. Along with my advertisments and page layouts.

BUHAHAH!

bye bye razr

After I got my blackberry and fell in love, I’ve really had no use for my razr, and I don’t see myself needing it at all. As sad as it is, I’m selling it to my brother, making this his THIRTY FIFTH phone. I hate to contribute to such a horrible cycle, but I’d rather get something out of the phone than just have it sit around and collect dust.

I went ahead and saved all my photos to my computer when I found a two photos from my birthday that I didn’t realize I had:

Me and Les singing karaoke. You can’t really see much, but it still made me laugh to find…

Me and my pollie ollie!!!! He looks sort of goofy here but I sure look cute.

;)

I foncess

I’d been meaning to order my dooce shirt for a couple of weeks now. Recently I went to buy it, but because I’ve gone to buy it so many times, I really couldn’t remember if I had or not. Yesterday I noticed that the company they are sold through billed me, which means yay! I actually ordered it like I thought. I didn’t realize it’d show up so fast, though. I guess I ordered it a little on the big side. Oops. I’d return it.. but well, I couldn’t but wear it.

dooce

I stumbled upon dooce.com when she was pregnant and have been reading her website religiously ever since. I am fascinated with her. Not in one of those creepy, scary ways (at least I don’t think so…) but I think she writes beautifully and I admire her accomplishments. I love most though reading about her relationship with her daughter. It comforts me to see that even though their daughter is still so young, they love her deeply.
