Dinner

Lo was so good tonight! She mostly just played with her food, but ate all the leftovers when we got home. I got a steak and it was soo good!

I had a great night :)

Oh no!

There’s been a stray dog roaming our neighborhood who looks to be having some skin issues. I can’t really tell what breed he is, he’s a bigger dog with golden colored fur. Anyway, I was looking up dog mange, when a can of coke got knocked over and puddled around my MacBook.

The thought of it getting screwed up from it really makes me sick. I need my laptop for work and other freelance projects and I really can’t afford to have my brand new computer break down on me, especially for something so stupid. It seems to be working fine now, but I do worry that the CD drive may have gotten wet.

I guess we will see though. Cross your fingers!

Crazy people

Someone posted a link on twitter the other day to a really scary news article. Apparently someone in the Virginia area is going around shopping malls and stabbing young women in the bum with box cutters!! Could you imagine? Shopping, minding your own business and then realizing someone’s slashed you with a knife?

It really scares me to think about, what if you were out shopping with your kids and something like that happened? What if they slashed your child? I can’t even stand the thought of it.

So tired

I did not sleep well last night. Vernon and Lo slept in until 8:30 this morning and of course I was wide awake at 6:30, tossing and turning. I don’t understand it, I was exhausted last night when I took my shower and tried out my premier dead sea body scrub.

It’s gonna be one of those days where I have no motivation to do anything because I slept so terribly. Not to mention it’s hot as hades out and our air conditioner is struggling. Ugggh!

Aren’t I just a ray of sunshine today?

Busy weekend

The wedding yesterday went well! The ceremony was short and sweet, and I did alright taking photos. Definitely not my best work, but I honestly didn’t expect anything great considering the wedding was just a small gathering. I could honestly never be a photographer, especially not one who shoots weddings. Taking pictures is 100% a hobby to me and I really enjoy being behind a camera (and even behind the computer afterwards), so adding in the tiniest amount of stress and/or anxiety to it (ie: taking pictures at a wedding) is no fun at all. I learned that with graphic design. Don’t get me wrong, I’m so happy to design as a job, but it’s not something I do in my free time for fun anymore!

After the wedding we went to a cookout and ate the best food I’ve had in a really long time! Lo had so much fun riding a four-wheeler with her daddy and trying to climb into their vintage tub. I doubt the hosts appreciated that!

Today has been pretty lazy for me. I should’ve had the house cleaned up a long time ago, but I didn’t get much sleep last night so I haven’t had the energy to. I better now, though, so we don’t come home to a dirty house when we get home from work tomorrow.

Happy Sunday!

Saturday Six

Saturday Six – Episode 378

1. How much attention did you pay to the Casey Anthony trial?
I paid a lot of attention to the trial, but it’s funny because up until the trial was beginning, I knew nothing about Casey Anthony. I knew of her name but didn’t have any idea why I was hearing it aside from a quick skim of her Wikipedia page. It was a couple of days into the trial when I started to hear more of my peers talking about her that I started tuning in online. Every. single. day. (I may or may not have even watched the trial a bit while on vacation….)

2. How justified do you think people are in their outrage at the jury’s verdict?
I think it is very justifiable. I mean… when they were reading the verdict, I had my speakers turned up and all my attention was on this trial and hearing that they found her guilty for murdering her child. Unfortunately I never heard that. It is so hard for me to believe that anyone could have any doubt that this psycho pants did it.

3. How often do you watch shows like Nancy Grace, who focuses a great deal of attention on cases like this?
Normally I can’t stand Nancy Grace, but on days when the trial was really boring and I had a hard time paying attention, I would tune in to her show. It was a great way to catch the good stuff without being bored to tears! I wish I had caught her show after they found CA not guilty, but I missed it.

4. If you had been a juror in that case, would you have talked to the media right after the verdict was delivered?
Probably not. I would talk to the media but I don’t think I would even feel like talking about it immediatley. After 6 weeks of being sequestered, I would probably just want to go home. But then again, I would never have found her not guilty as the jury did. The deliberating would have lasted much longer than 11 hours.

5. If you were a juror and you were later offered money for an interview, how likely would you be willing to accept payment to appear on television to discuss the case?
I would not be willing to accept any money. I’m not going to lie, I’m sure it would be hard to turn down large offers but to make money off a little girl’s death, a little girl who is so close in age to my own daughter, really makes me sick. I’m afraid to see how much money Casey Anthony is going to make off killing her daughter. It makes me absolutely SICK.

6. Would you support a law that would prohibit a juror from profiting from being on a jury in this manner? Why or why not?
I think I would support it. I just don’t think it’s a good idea and could possibly sway the jurors in their deliberation. For example, every one thought Casey Anthony would be found guilty, but she wasn’t, and as a result everyone wanted to hear from the jurors. People do crazy things for money, and I can see someone basing their decision on how much TV will want them after the verdict is read!
