Feel Safe 24/7

There are certain security measures that everyone should take in order to feel safe in their home. Personally, we don’t really have any special extras other than our three dogs and standard deadbolt locks on our front and back doors. The thing about having dogs, even though ours aren’t what I would consider vicious, is that if they are not upset I don’t feel like there’s anything I need to worry about.

While I feel pretty safe having dogs, I would love to install some security cameras so that in the event that our home were burglarized, it would help police identify who did it. Not too long ago, our cars were hit by someone and Vernon’s GPS was stolen. I noticed the police at our neighbor’s house, so I’m sure their cars were broken into as well. Security cameras would’ve been great in finding the loser who stole from us!

Chemworks Organic Glass Cleaner

One thing in our household that we can never have too much of are cleaning supplies. The house can be spotless Saturday morning, and by Saturday evening every glass surface (which is a lot) will be covered in sticky nasty baby handprints.

I love my little sticky baby.

Anyway, Chemworks Organic Glass Cleaner does just what it’s supposed to. It leaves NO streaks, which is something I always struggle with when using most glass cleaners and other Cleaning Chemicals. I would recommend this line of products to anyone as they are not only organic, but all of the products I have been able to try work amazingly. Continue reading

Where oh where is the remote

One of the not-so-great qualities I’m blessed with is the ability to lose just about anything even if it was just in my hand five seconds ago. It is soo annoying, especially when it comes to baby items for Lo. They are all so small and it is nearly impossible to keep up with anything. Lately I can’t keep up with her fingernail clippers. I searched high and low for those things, checked all of our medicine cabinets and they were no where. Lo and behold, Vernon discovered them somewhere in the living room.

I honestly don’t know if it’s me that loses everything. I think Lo gets into these things and stashes them away somewhere. SHE must be the one responsible for the TV remote that’s been missing for at least 2 weeks. Not that we have more than 5 channels, but it’s pretty annoying to use the buttons on the television to sift through 20 channels of static to get to the few that do come in.

I really hope that thing shows up sooner or later.

It never hurts to try

The past month has been nuts. Lo’s not been feeling well off and on, so I’ve falled behind with some of my work. I’m trying my best to get caught up but it’s hard when I just worry that my little one isn’t feeling well.

I’ve been researching hot tub covers to find the best one in hopes of getting Vernon on the boat so we can GET A HOT TUB! I would loooove one, especially with winter coming soon, sitting in in a hot tub late at night in the cold drinking a glass of wine sounds like my kind of night!

I’m sure, as with most things, he won’t go for it. But my mindset when approaching anything is that anything is possible!

Are you ready for Fall?

I am!

It’s that time of year when the cool crisp breeze sets in, the leaves begin to fall… and the weather is perfect for what feels like a week and then winter takes over and then I hate the world.

I just don’t like winter. I love digging out all of our sweaters and scarves, but I don’t know that anything can really make up for the dreariness of winter. It makes you lazy, it’s too cold to go outside, and it feels like it’s almost always gross out.

And even more annoying about winter, we don’t even usually get any snow. I love it when it snows, probably for that very reason, but it almost might make it worth it if it snowed once in a while. Last year we got quite a bit and I loved it!

And even worse, winter means it will pretty much be dark out by the time I get off work. That alone makes me feel pretty depressed.

We have to go

I think a lot about moving. I know it would probably be a long time before we would even actually think about it, but I would really love to be a little further from the city. Not quite out in the boonies but far enough to have more land at a cheaper price.

Until we are at a place in our careers and life that we can afford to sell our home and move, we can always check out Nags Head Outer banks vacation rentals. More than we need to move we really, really need a vacation. We’ve been attempting to plan once since before I gave birth to Lo, but it just hasn’t happened. Nags Head, NC is absolutely beautiful. Between the beach, and state parks for hiking, picnicking, you name it… we’d never run out of fun things to do. It also sounds perfect for our family because there are parts of the town where you can be a little further away from the hustle and bustle of every day life, which is exactly what I’m looking for.

With the economy and babysitting and everything else in between, we really have to do some serious planning and saving before we can use our vacation time towards and actual vacation instead of making sure one of us is off to watch Lo. But I can’t wait until we truly would be able to set up our vacation with Carolina Designs and plan a fun family adventure in Nags Head!

Just get me a ring already!!

Vernon and I go back and forth about getting married. He teases me by saying I don’t want to marry him, and I tease him by saying he just needs to get me a ring. And he does. I don’t think I’m asking too much, I don’t need some huge fancy, over-the-top diamond ring. He could easily visit a wholesale diamonds website to find something beautiful and within our budget.

I honestly don’t know what the hold up, but at the same time I love him regardless of whether or not we are married. We will be together regardless of a ring or a legal document that allows us to file our taxes together.

People could easily turn their nose up at us for having a baby together before being married, but that’s okay. Think what you want, it has absolutely no bearing on our ability to parent or our relationship.
