EXCITED!
We have two printers in our house that I use for printing coupons and photos that I take. Just last week the ink in the printer we use with Vernon’s computer ran out of ink, which is what makes me cringe about couponing. Yeah, the ink pretty much pays for itself in one grocery trip, but I’d rather not drop $30-$40 dollars every time one of them runs out.
Enter the Brother Laser Monochrome printer on sale at OfficeDepot for $49.99!!!!
I admit I was a little bummed out when I realized it was only a black and white printer, but after thinking about it, a monochrome printer is even better for coupons. Since it’s only b&w, there’s only one cartridge to replace. I haven’t looked into the prices of brand new ink, but I did find a site that offers remanufactured toner for about $25.00. From what I understand, most laser printers can print up to 5,000 pages on one cartridge so that $25 will go a LONG way!
I ordered from Office Depot that has free next day shipping, so my laser printer should be here by tomorrow! I really am too excited about this. The next step is to figure out how to get Vernon’s PC to print to it when connected to one of my macs. Wish me luck!
No commentsAwesome iPhone finance app
I downloaded an awesome iPhone app called Pageonce where I can add almost all of our bills like cable, our cellphones, auto insurance (which is generally the bill I forget about until it’s almost due), credit cards, bank accounts… pretty much everything. They do NOT, however have support for our local water, trash, and electric utilities. I understand these companies are probably fairly small in the grand scheme of things, but I think the option to add custom bills that you update yourself would be a nice feature.
Another great thing about the app, is that it will email you and display a badge when there is a change on any of your accounts. This is really handy because it never hurts to have an extra reminder. Also, if you’re paranoid like me, there’s an option to require a pin number upon opening the application.
Best of all? It’s free!

Lo is napping right now!!!
She seems to be growing out of her late morning nap, so now that she is napping I’m sitting down to blog, shop for kamik rain boots and catch up on some shows online that I’ve missed.
I love being on vacation so much. The house gets cleaned, chores get done, I get to spend my days with Lo and then have a good dinner and relax once Vernon gets home.
This is a huge change from our usual wake up at what feels like dawn, get Lo up and fed, do a load of dishes and laundry, shower, pack Lo’s bag, get my lunch together (if I’m bringing it), get Lo dressed and get out the door. Then I work all day and come home to a house that’s been destroyed by Lo for the past hour. Then dinner and all the house hold stuff and bed time stuff and by the end of the day we are TIRED.

Just yesterday I was asking Vernon how long he thinks we’ll live in the house we do now. You know, I love our home… I love it to pieces, but I don’t know how long we’ll actually live there. I love the idea of buying a nice big home somewhere a little further from the city (we’re 9 miles from downtown) where we’d have an even bigger yard and the properties are cheaper.
I think maybe someday, we actually will. It may not be one of those fancy Outer Banks homes, but I hope it is a great improvement in size. Maybe when we’re ready to have another baby, which I know we will be in a few years. I go back and forth about it constantly–can I handle the heartache of possibly having another early baby? Will I be able to give a second child enough love and attention when I feel like Lo has every ounce my being is capable of making?
I think in time, I will find the answers and know for sure what would be best for our family. For now I’m just going to keep dreaming of a bigger house
Vacation week!
I’m very excitttted! This week I’m only working today and tomorrow with the rest of the week off for vacation! Me and Lo are gonna have a good few days together, especially because we’ll be coming up on a big deadline at work.
We don’t have anything special planned except for lunch with a coworker since I won’t be working for her last day since she’s quitting. I’m hoping maybe we can visit with Lulu and Crayola, maybe even get in some writing about personalized footballs and a product review I received this week.
The fact that I don’t have to work Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday is making it very very easy to be at work today. I don’t feel like killing myself for once!

When I was in college I got MORE speeding tickets than I think I ever got before. I looked into radar detectors because I was so desperate to stop getting pulled over, but then something in me switched, and now….
I DRIVE LIKE A GRANNY!
I ended up not paying the right amount on a ticket that caused my license to get suspended (over $30 damn dollars) so of course I had to fork over even more money to get it in good standing. Ever since I have really followed the speed limit and even more so now that we have Lo. I’m worst about pulling out in traffic though, I am so paranoid about pulling out in front of someone and cutting them off that a lot of the time I’ll set there saying, “Man, I could’ve gone!” or “Booo, I could’ve made that!”
Granny or not, being safe when you drive is so very important.

After doing all this couponing (which I am still more than obsessed with), it is hard to believe I went to target today, spent $100 and walked out with only 2 bags and a box of wipes.
Im going shopping tomorrow and I’ll definitely dedicate a post to my goods. There are awesome sales at Kroger this week!
Right now we are cooking what I think is going to be an awesome dinner, made mostly with veggies from our garden: squash casserole, grilled chicken with my special glaze, and fried squash and okra!
Gonna be gooood
