Sleepy

I really love to shop. I am not so hardcore that you’d see me camping out for Black Friday sales, but every now and then we do like to splurge. This weekend I took Lo to Target and ended up buying her 3 new toys, 2 outfits, two sets of pajamas, a pair of shoes, tooth brush and a few other items.

Currently she is in her crib being a terd. It’s time for her afternoon nap and even though she’s exhausted she’s just not having it. She’s not upset though so I’m hoping she’ll get tired of talking to herself and drift off.

I sure hope so, I could use a nap myself.

Sinful Colors

I’ve mentioned before that Walgreens is my favorite store. This morning I had to make a quick trip there when I came acoss these:

I don’t know how I haven’t noticed them already. The display was huge and I saw TONS of great colors. I’ve heard of Sinful Colors but never actually tried them. If I realized they were at Walgreens I’m sure I would have sooner.

I got five different colors: Dream On, Neon Melon, Pink, Irish Green, and Summer Peach. All really funky and bright (so bright I couldn’t get a decent picture).

As soon as I got home I painted my nails with Summer Peach (orange, pictured). The finish on it is weird because it’s so fluorescent. I used three coats and a top coat. I love the application of this polish and so far it seems to be holding up well!

The best thing about Sinful Colors? They’re only $1.99!

Memorial Day Weekend!

I am excited for this weekend! Monday is Memorial day so Vernon and I get the day off.  We don’t have much planned, I’ll probably clean the house, write about insurance quotes, and spend some much needed extra time with my sweet baby girl.

It would be nice to start some Memorial Day traditions. Maybe we will grill out if the weather is nice. I haven’t even checked the weather for this weekend, but I really hope it’s nice. Maybe I could try my hand at some homemade baked beans!

Do you have any Memorial Day traditions?

Pizza is totally my favorite

Friday Food Fun – Pizza Toppings!

1. What are your favorite pizza toppings?
My absolute favorite pizza topping is mushrooms. If we are going to order pizza and Vernon asks what I want, it is always mushrooms! I’ve also come to love tomatoes and black olives as well.
2. Do you prefer thin crust or thick crust?
It really depends on what I’m in the mood for, but lately I prefer thin crust. I hate feeling like I need to take the top diet pill after eating a deep dish pizza.
3. Do you prefer Deluxe pizza or a pizza with just 1 – 3 ingredients (which ones)?
Sometimes I really like just a plain ole super cheesy pizza. Most of the time I’d rather have a deluxe pizza, especially when it comes to store bought frozen pizza. My favorite is Red Baron Special Deluxe.
4. Do you eat any unusual toppings on your pizzas?
I don’t eat any unusual anything. Vernon likes to poke at me about how picky I am, but that’s just how I am.
5. Do you prefer tomato sauce or another sauce (which kind)?
This adds to my last answer… I only like traditional tomato sauce on my pizza. There’s a local pizza buffet here that makes pizza with some kind of white sauce and I really don’t like it.
6. What is your favorite dessert pizza?
I haven’t really had many dessert pizzas… not enough to say I have a favorite, anyway.
7. Do you prefer pizza from a restaurant, from the freezer or deli section, or homemade?
I like pizza from Pizza Hut overall.
8. Describe the perfect pizza for you.
Once I went to Chicago and had REAL pizza. It was absolutely amazing. Even though I like thin crust the most, a traditional Chicago pizza with tons of cheese and mushrooms is the perfect pizza. Thankfully Chicago is about 8 hours away so I probably won’t indulge on one of these for a very long time. I’m sure I’d gain a lot of weight, which is the last thing I want to do!

Orange

When Vernon and I went shopping for our flowers, I had a hard time finding the name of them anywhere at the store. For the most part, we have no idea what we ended up with which makes it hard to know how to properly take care of them.

Half of our flowers aren’t doing so hot. We got about 6 marigolds, some petunias, some orange ones (pictured) that I don’t know the name of, an interesting looking red plant, and some yellow and maroon flowers. The flowers on the marigolds don’t look so great but there are new blooms  coming. The petunias and orange flowers are doing great. The maroon and yellow thing is already dying, even though it did awesome for a while.

Vernon is the one that really takes care of them, which I love so much about him. He loves his plants. Yesterday he planted a bunch of vegetables and herbs in our freshly tilled garden. We wanted to start one last year but with my pregnancy complications and trying to prepare for a baby, we never got the chance.

I’m really excited to see if we can actually grow our own vegetables. I will definitely be updating on it’s progress :)

Paper jam

It seems like our office is cursed when it comes to printers. We’re on our second printer now and unfortunately it’s an even bigger pile of junk that the first one we had. I don’t know what it is about printers but they are almost always a huge pain. The really unfortunate thing about having a clunky printer is that it’s communal, and about a foot away from my desk. This means that everyone who doesn’t have a personal printer at work has to rely on this thing.

It’s bad enough that everyone who enters or leaves the office has to pass my desk, usually interrupting my work in some way… but throw the printer in the mix and there’s almost always someone at my desk waiting for their documents to print. I don’t understand why we keep ending up with those combo printers that break down within a year when you could spend a bit more for something like the tm-t88iv. I would be in absolute heaven if my boss showed up with a printer like this. It would be done printing before anyone could even get to the printer!

A girl can dream.
