Yes, I smoke. No, I am not proud of it. I have every intention of quitting but I just don’t know if quitting is in the near future. I don’t want my daughter to see me smoking, yet I haven’t put in any effort to quit. I’d really love to try an e cigarette, I have never heard of anyone smoking one of these but it sounds really cool. I’ve always imagined some sort of smoking contraption like that. They’ll come up with anything these days!

Observations
We are convinced that one of our neighbors is a serial killer… and another is a hit man.
Hum
I keep hearing about this “ONEderland.” I’m going to be honest and say it makes me feel kinda good that I’ve always been in it. I don’t feel that I am at *my* weight, though. Despite being smaller than what I imagined I would be after getting pregnant and having a baby, I do feel that I need to try. Not even try harder, just f’ing try already.
I’m going to get some shoes this weekend that are good to run in and I’m going to spend some time on my treadmill. I came up with the idea to start at the beginning and watch one episode of Lost while on the treadmill each morning. I love Lost, I remember seeing it for the first time and thinking, “Wow, this is a great show.” Somewhere along the line I got too busy to keep up with it each week. All episodes are available online and the last time I got on my treadmill I was absolutely BORED for 45 minutes. Six seasons of over 40 minute shows are more than enough to get in the habit of taking better care of myself.
Plus, once I finish Lost, I shall start from the beginning of The Office, the best show in the world.
Spring is here!
I am so excited for Spring and warmer weather. Last year around this time I was pregnant and about to be put on bed rest. Bed rest was absolute torture, and with complications due to my pregnancy, I couldn’t do any fun Summer things like swimming without worrying that it would cause an infection. I enjoyed the nice weather in our area mostly from the couch, and it got really old really quick. This year I am so excited to take little one to the park, swimming, and just doing fun outdoor things. We also want to start a garden this year and with all the hype about what goes into our food lately, the idea never sounded better.
Our birthdays are coming up soon and it’s really hard to believe that it’s almost been a year since I had my baby. Where does time go?
Always something!
We go through SO many batteries in our household. It seems like most all of Layla’s toys require batteries, but thankfully they seem to last a while. Our wiimote charging dock/battery packs died recently, so we use plenty of batteries in that department. I also have an external flash for my DSLR that eats through them pretty quickly. If it weren’t for the fact that most of these things require different sizes, I would stock up on re-chargables. I think I will get some AA rechargables for my flash and wiimotes, and hold off on chargers for Layla’s toys as we haven’t really had to replace them in ages!
That was a disaster!
I am not sure what one would need stainless steel drums for, but they sure do look cool. One thing I feel we don’t have enough of in our house are five gallon buckets. Those things come in so hand when it comes to doing water changes on our fish tanks. About two weeks ago, the seal on our 35 gallon tank broke and water started to leak everywhere. We had to use two large pots and it took the majority of our night to get under control. The whole time I kept thinking JEEZ, I wish we had some of those buckets! Alas, we got it all worked out. Hopefully there will be no more linking aquariums in our house any time soon!
No clean clothes
If your line of work requires you to work with any type of tools or substance that can harm your eyes, skin, or head you really need to make sure you own protective clothing. Vernon’s line of work dirties up his clothes pretty much on a regular basis, which keeps the laundry flowing. We are always behind on laundry. Laundry is my least favorite chore, I would rather scrub 3 toilets each week than do a load of laundry. It doesn’t help that we have zero space in not one but TWO of the chest of drawers/dressers that we have in our bedroom. Both are full and overflowing with clothes that neither of us ever wear.
