I am pretty upset with Comcast lately. We moved out HDTV into the living room (it was previously in the den) so that I could actually enjoy it rather than letting it sit unwatched on the other side of the house. When we moved it I decided to add an HD/DVR receiver on to our Comcast package, however after having the box a little over a month it started to cut off every 30 minutes. It is INCREDIBLY annoying. To make matters worse, the technician came out and fiddled with the cables outside, and didn’t bother to bring us a new box as promised. We were told they would bring us a new box the next day and never showed. Finally, out of sheer irritation we called to complain. Thankfully they comped $25 from our bill, but it’s still frustrating. I want my clear channels and dvr back!

If you’re short on money
When I was out on my own and still in college, I really struggled to make ends meet. It didn’t help that my boyfriend at the time was addicted to opiates and would steal pretty much any money that I DID make working part time. After getting my associates degree I decided it was time to put my bachelor’s on hold to get a full time job. I sold most all of my textbooks and made a pretty good amount off them. I did keep a few that I thouht were good resources for graphic design. They’re still on my bookshelf today
Everyone needs a laptop!
I really love having a laptop computer, I’m not sure how people get by without having one. Since my doctor put me on bedrest it has been a lifesaver. I don’t even have to leave my couch and I still get paid!
I also think it is awesome that cellphone providers are now offering wireless cards that allow you to stay connected to the internet anywhere. I would have LOVED to have this option when I was working at a group home. That job was stressful and I always felt so disconnected from everyone.
Going organic?
I’ve always been curious why there are so many growing illnesses and disesases these days, like Mesothelioma cancer, that you never really heard of back in the day. I’m sure a lot of it has to do with pollution and all the crazy chemicals that are going into our foods. It’s really quite scary. I’d go organic if I could afford it, but honestly, in this household we waste a LOT of food. We rarely to never actually finish anything we purchase. Throwing out expensive organic food would be even more of a waste! Or maybe it would be just the opposite. Perhaps if we pay more for our foods we’ll be more inclined to not let them go to waste.
I hope I can bounce back!
At nearly 8 months pregnant, I feel pretty good about my weight gain. I’ve gained probably 26-28 pounds (I’m not 100% positive of what I weighed pre-pregnancy) so I don’t feel like I’ll have to rely on any fat burner supplements to get rid of this baby weight. I read about quite a few women really blowing up in the last two months, and I really really hope that isn’t me. I’m not sure how much weight you lose from the actual pregnancy, but I’m confident I can get back to my original weight.
Celebrity endorsment does not equal quality.
There are so many different products that say they are a treatment for acne on the market, it is really hard to choose or know which one really works. It helps to do your research, research, research! I cannot stress that enough! Any time I am buying a product online I am sure to read many reviews so that I have some idea of whether or not something works. When it comes to something as important and helpful as a treatment for acne you may be suffering with, it can be very rewarding to read about others’ experiences with certain medications.
Still on the couch
I’m going on week 7 of bedrest and I would really love to get away for a while. I know it’s probably not practical at this point in my pregnancy, but it would be nice to take a vacation before the baby comes. We need to save all the time we can to spend time with the baby, so unforunately, it doesn’t look like we’ll be checking out any Outer Banks rentals.
I’ll probably be using all my saved vacation days to add onto my maternity leave… so a vacation is really farr farr away.
