My boyfriend wears the apron in the relationship

My boyfriend is a chef, so it is important that we have plenty of cookware in the house so that he can prepare all these tasty and wonderful meals for yours truly. I don’t know how to cook much of anything. I recently mastered making cheese sticks in my new deep fryer. They were soo delicious, but I need to keep that to a minimum. I’ll stick with kettle corn!

My taste is changing

I’ve never really been a huge fan of popcorn. My dislike for it really grew when Les and I would go to the movies. I really don’t like the smell of it, and when someone insists on burping specifically in your direction while eating it.. it’s enough to make someone gag.

The other day I saw an episode of “How It’s Made” where they explained how popcorn is made. It really gave me a hankering for something I didn’t even like. I got a box of “Buttery Kettle Corn” and I admit I’m digging it so far.  I guess it’s similar to how I used to shrivel up and die if I had to eat a tomato, but now I enjoy them.

A few years ago the only theme park in this area got torn down, and in it’s place they built a mall. The whole idea seemed like a really great one until the mall was finished and I realized that it’s no better than any other mall in the area, just bigger, with more stores that I’d rather not shop in. One of the closer places now is probably Dollywood at Pigeon Forge. I would really love to go, and maybe top it off with a Pigeon Forge cabin rental. If only I could take off work for a vacation!

I guess I forgive them

I am seriously upset with Paypal. Since I started getting paid to blog, I decided that I wanted to take advantage of having a paypal debit card. My brother had already requested one for me, but I lost it before I even opened the envelope when I was moving out of the apartment. Anyway, I called a couple of weeks ago and asked that he cancel the one that was waiting to be activated and send me a new one.

After anxiously waiting it finally came. Of course when I logged into paypal and attempted to activate, I was told that it could not be performed on the card. Furious, I called… a very nice lady was attempting to help me when my crapola cellphone cut out. I called back with Paul’s phone and got to speak with someone who I really couldn’t understand. I’m pretty sure he was aware that I couldn’t understand him, but just didn’t care. So after showing my ass and yelling I just hung up and called a third time.

Maria was going to help me, and I thought for sure with her speaking English so clearly she would for sure help me out. She had the same bad news that the man had before, I guess I was just hoping that he didn’t know what he was talking about. I have to request another one and wait all over again.

collector of things strange

My cousin Les has always really loved Pens. She collected all types, really fancy ones, or simple ones. At one point she was carrying her entire collection with her in her purse. When she got a new pen she’d whip them out and slide it in with the others. I guess it seems like a weird thing to collect, maybe not… but this is also coming from someone who collected vitamins.

Thanks, Tennessee

Since the TV in my computer room only picks up channels 1-12 (on a good day) I usually end up watching the local stations. I’m working on a new TV, maybe I will use my sponsored blog earnings… or perhaps as a treat to myself for my birthday. I think I’m pretty much set on a lawn mower and a new laptop. I know, I know, I just had a new laptop but it was a PC and it was cheap. Even my brother sold it after I sold it to him!

Anyway, back to the local TV I was watching tonight. I saw on the news that they’re raising the cigarette tax 42 cents. I guess that’s what I get for having such a bad habit. Oh well.

I added a “complain” category to my blog the other day and I can’t help but notice that most of my posts go into this one. Sorry guys  :P

Help those in need

I love the show intervention. It is about drug rehabilitation and loving families who are trying to save someone they care about. Drug addiction is a very serious matter. I don’t think enough people are aware of the damages it can do to so many aspects of the human life. It seems as though nothing is really important anymore.

I believe rehab can really help a person, but only if they really want it. All the mess going on with celebrities coming and going from rehab like it’s a day spa is unreal. Don’t let the superficial image rehab has been given make you think that it is not a productive solution to addiction. It saves many people every day.
