Pout

I started off a little depressed this morning. I mean, it was fine until I got to work and my co-workers started to talk about bonnaroo. I really, really wanted to go. The Flaming Lips, Ween, freaking… Feist, The White Stripes.. Lots of good bands that I’d really like to see. It’s too expensive though, and for some reason if we were going to go Paul insisted that I needed to take off work… I don’t feel that is necessary though. I don’t like to take off work, certainly not for some huge drug infested hippy festival… that would just look GREAT. I mean, I’m not saying there is anything wrong with drugs or being a hippy, but unfortunately not everyone feels that way.

Le sigh. Oh Bonnaroo, you were fun to think about.

I’ll send an SOS

I was reading up on the new Police cd earlier today.. It is a compilation CD and I discovered that it features my favorite song by The Police, Message In A Bottle.

Message In A Bottle is my favorite song because in my loneliest of moments it always makes me feel as though I’m not so alone. When you are feeling lonely there are hundreds of thousands of people feeling the same isolation and despair at that very moment. The thought always makes me feel not so alone after all.

I think the compilation Police cd is a great showcase of all the wonderful music they have made over the years. The album includes songs such as Message In a Bottle, Every Breath You Take, and Driven To Tears. Not only does it highlight all their best songs but it also reveals the impact that The Police has made on music. They influenced bands by trying new things and creating what I feel is their own sound by mixing rock, pop, and even new wave styles. The Police have done a great job creating a unique sound that I feel is stylish, gutsy, theatrical, and hypnotic. I am a huge fan of Sting. I think he has an awesome voice and brought a lot of talent to The Police.

There are so many great songs on their new CD and I am thrilled that will be going on a new worldwide tour. Surely I can make it to see them. I do have a birthday coming up guys.. wink, wink. ☺

The babysitter’s dead

Recently my grandfather fenced in my backyard so that our dogs and run and play freely. It really made me a basketcase trying to make sure they stayed within the boundaries of the yard. Thank god for chain link and people willing to do physically demanding tasks for you.

Speaking of that fence and physically demanding tasks, my grandfather left part of the chainlink sticking up because the people who used to live here created some sort of huge dirt mound. I guess my grandfather didn’t feel like doing it so of course I passed the task to my boyfriend. Being the random soul that he is, he decided to do it tonight right as it got dark.

We drove my car to the back of the yard and shined the lights on the area that he needed to dig out for the fence. I couldn’t help but think that the neighbors were hanging out at their windows watching us. I doubt they could see the uneven fencing from a distance so of course I couldn’t help but worry that they thought we were burying a dead body.
